Everyone,

First, Holly and I want to thank you all for your dedication and encouragement for the Godly Attitude site and lessons. This series would not have had the success it has without your enthusiasm and sharing the information with others around you. We are truly greatful for all you do. Second, we wanted to inform you of something extremelyexciting that is going on right now. Holly and I are entering into more of an evangelical role in ministry and we could not be more excited. After over 8 years in Student Ministry it’s time for us to move forward into a greater arena for God. We wanted to use this platform to reach as many people as possible and let you know that over the next few weeks we’ll be transferring a lot of this data onto our new site www.hollisoutreach.blogspot.com that will be the site we operate from for now. The site is already launched and we are in the process of adding information daily. As you are fully aware this stuff takes time so bare with us and we promise to get everything up and running as soon as possible. Of course, on the new site you can sign up to follow us and that way you’ll always remain informed of upcoming news, where Holly and I will be speaking, etc, etc. Please keep up with us as we would love to stay in touch and we look forward to seeing you soon.

In Him,

Chris and Holly Hollis

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Galatians 4:6-8 (Amplified Bible)

6And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the [Holy] Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba (Father)! Father!

7Therefore, you are no longer a slave (bond servant) but a son; and if a son, then [it follows that you are] an heir by the aid of God, through Christ.

8But at that previous time, when you had not come to be acquainted with and understand and know the true God, you [Gentiles] were in bondage to gods who by their very nature could not be gods at all [gods that really did not exist].

Guys, we are heirs to something so much bigger than this! You were meant for so much more. God loves you, His Child!! Never be ashamed of the fact that the father loves you, He is proud of you and has appointed you for huge things! Notice that the quote above says…..

“There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.”

…it’s not only a privilege but a duty to share God with those around you and to live so that Jesus is what they see when they see you. Share Jesus with a smile so that everyone that comes in contact with you realizes that Jesus, in you, is what makes you different.

John 16:15 says:

15Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.

It’s not a mistake that you have the power you do, God intended it for a purpose…to be used!

USE IT!

Hey everybody! We’re back as promised this morning with our first discussion on faith. Over the past month we’ve talked about developing the God given attitude inside each and every one of us into one that mimics Christ. During the month we basically covered what could be considered the “external factor” which would be and is our dealing with the world and how it comes at us. Moving forward we must dive deeper into the word and continue to draw near to God so that He continues drawing near to us. Our stepping stone, if you will, into this deep dive will be faith. Faith is the cornerstone, foundation, launching pad or whatever you want to call it of Christianity. Faith defines our relationship with the Father. We walk by Faith, not by sight – I mean, Faith is what we do.

C.S. Lewis said “Faith is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted in spite of your changing moods.”

Where am I going with this? Good question.

This is FANTASTIC NEWS!! Faith is where we hold our shoulders back, stick out our chest, chin held high and say “I’m a child of God”!! That…THAT has a huge impact on our attitude. Guys, Faith in the Father means faith in his word because “in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.” So having faith (believing in, trusting in, adhering to) God means you do the same to his word. This is the fun part. John 1:12 says

12But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name

God’s word tells us that what the father gave to Jesus he also gave to us; John 16:15 says

15Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.

Dude, if your attitude isn’t getting better by now then you need to WAKE UP!!! Did you just read that? What God gave to Jesus he says you have a right to. This doesn’t mean some “name it clame it” “power hungry” Christian that just wants to walk around snotty and snubbing everyone. This means a child of God claiming what has been given to him/her by a loving father. Guys, we are not “power hungry” we are “power full” and that Power comes from God, it is God’s and we can use it.

We are going to go through a series on Faith and I’m talking bold faith. Faith that declares:

1) by his wounds we are healed (declaring no sickness in our bodies at all ever again)

2) financial freedom (God doesn’t have debt and if all that the Father has is mine then neither should I)

3) Enough faith to “call things that be not as though they were” ..calling the unseen as if they are seen.

Romans 4:17 says

17As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.

It’s time we stop acting like we serve a shy God that wants to work for us behind the scenes and start taking God on his promises and accepting what He has for us. Will you join me on this journey? Your life will never be the same
